Hapag-Lloyd will increase rates for dry, refrigerated, flat rack and open top containers on its trade from the Indian subcontinent to the U.S. and Canada, effective July 1.
The hike will be $320 per 20-foot container, $400 per 40-foot container, $450 per 40-foot high-cube container and $506 per 45-foot container.
Trans-Pacific rates inched up recently, following a five-week slump.
Hapag-Lloyd will also implement an overweight surcharge in the U.K., excluding Northern Ireland, starting July 1.
