NYK will launch a new South Pacific Link (SPL) service between the Far East and the South Pacific islands beginning in January. The vessels in the new SPL service will be operated by NYK Bulk & Projects Carriers.
The SPL service will be operated using multipurpose semi-container vessels that will make 72-day round voyages every 18 days. The vessels will transport a variety of cargo, such as completed cars, and container and conventional cargo.
In addition, the service will offer handling within an extensive global network to provide a liner service linking the South Pacific islands to the world. The first vessel in the SPL service will be South Islander V.101, calling Busan on Jan. 12.
