EXPRESS delivery giant DHL has commenced an air cargo route connecting mainland China with the United Arab Emirates, Xinhua reports.
The new service, which is expected to be DHL's third busiest and fastest-growing route for exports to the UAE, is designed to cut transport times in half from the previous two days to one, as well as raise capacity between China and the Middle East.
With the launch of the new service, the report said Chinese shippers will be able to enjoy door-to-door delivery to destinations in the UAE and other Middle East countries.
China is the fourth and fastest growing trade partner for the UAE. In 2006, bilateral trade between the two countries rose 32 per cent year on year to US$14.2 billion.
