A major expansion of express air freight services in regional and far north Queensland is expected to follow the signing of deal between Australian air Express (AaE) and Queensland-based MacAir Airlines.
The deal gives AaE exclusive access to cargo space on MacAir passenger flights from Townsville to Mt Isa, as well as other MacAir passenger routesconnecting hubs in north Queensland including Townsville, Cairns, Mt Isa, Cloncurry, Burketown and Mornington Island.
AaE’s chief executive officer Wayne Dunne said that he was delighted with the new agreement and believes that the deal for exclusive access to cargo space on MacAir passenger services will offer a range of benefits to businesses and consumers based in regional and north Queensland
“The benefits of the new deal include increased access to express freight services for people in remote areas of Queensland, “said Dunne. “And because AaE is part of the Qantas freight network, MacAir passengers will have greater access to excess baggage and animal freight services to and from Qantas and Jetstar passenger services.”
