On October 28, TAP will inaugurate regular direct flights to the city of Praia, the capital of Cape Verde, with four flights a week departing from Lisbon on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays at 9:50pm. This new destination reinforces connections to that Portuguese-speaking country as daily flights to Sal will be maintained, totaling 11 flights a week between Portugal and Cape Verde
Praia is therefore now the eighth destination in Africa in the TAP network, together with Sal, Bissau, Dakar, Johannesburg, Luanda, Maputo and Sao Tome. In total there will be 35 flights a week connecting Portugal to the various destinations served by the Portuguese company on the African continent.
TAP continues to make use of all available opportunities to consolidate its presence in Africa, contributing to the strengthening of economic relations between Portugal and a variety of African countries, as well as increasing ties between the respective peoples, most of who are connected to Portugal by strong historical bonds.
Confirming its significant growth in Africa, TAP transported more than 317 thousand passengers in the first nine months of the year on all the routes operated in this sector of its network, 14.2 percent more than in the same period the previous year.
TAP is also offering its customers flights to another non-stop destination in Northern Africa – Cairo - operated by Egyptair with which the Company has a code-share agreement.
