Botswana is still looking to privatise its state-owned airline despite a failed attempt to sell a stake to South Africa's SA Airlink this year, president Festus Mogae said.
Mogae said negotiations with SA Airlink about the privatization of Air Botswana were unsuccessful, but this does not detract from government's determination to privatize the airline if the terms and conditions are right.
The government early last month rejected an offer from privately held SA Airlink to buy a stake in Air Botswana as the proposal didn't support the government's wider objectives for the development of the country's transportation and tourism sectors.
