Dubai-based Emirates Airline expects to take delivery of its first Airbus A380 double-decker airplane by next June or July - slightly ahead of a revised timetable.
Maurice Flanagan, executive vice chairman of Emirates Airline and the wider Emirates Group, said at an airline conference in London that the first plane would then go into service next October. Airbus has delayed deliveries of A380 airplanes by around 18 months on average due to electrical wiring problems.
Emirates, which is the biggest A380 buyer with 47 on order, had been expecting to take delivery of the first plane by next August. The first A380 recently went into service with launch customer Singapore Airlines.
