The Trans-Atlantic Conference Agreement said it is holding the line on its bunker surcharge through at least June 15, but said the weak dollar will trigger a change in the currency adjustment factor.
For Atlantic and Gulf Coast ports, bunker adjustment factor levels will remain at $607 for 20-foot containers, $1,214 for 40- or 45-foot containers and $61 per weight or measurement ton.
For Pacific Coast ports, the BAF is $911 for 20-footers, $1,822 for 40 or 45-foot containers, and $91 per weight or measurement ton.
Based on the latest monitoring period, the continuing strength of major European currencies against the dollar will trigger an adjustment to the CAF from 12 percent to 15 percent effective May 16 through at least June 15.
