TNT, the Dutch postal group's express package and freight delivery company, said Friday it would invest 100 million euros ($158.5 million) during the next five years to build an air hub in Singapore and expand its network in Southeast Asia.
The express carrier said it wants to take advantage of the huge demand for transport service between China, Southeast Asia and Europe.
TNT also plans to launch a three-times-per-week service each way between China, Singapore and its European hub in Leige, Belgium using a Boeing 747 jumbo jet.
The Singapore hub will serve as a transshipment point for air cargo and also a central terminal for TNT's road network between 120 cities in Southeast Asia.
