New CMA CGM service on South America West Coast

CMA CGM said it will launch in June a new weekly service dedicated to the West Coast of South America, linking Panama, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Chile and Costa Rica.   The carrier will operate the ANDEX service with three geared 1,100-TEU vessels on a port rotation of Balboa, Panama; Buenaventura, Colombia; Guayaquil, Ecuador; Iquique, Chile; Callao, Peru; Buenaventura, Colombia; and Puerto Caldera, Costa Rica.   CMA CGM said the new regional service would widen its coverage of services crossing the Panama Canal, and open up new markets, particularly in North Chile and Ecuador. To this end, the rotation of the SAX service that connects Asia and the U.S. East Coast via Panama is being redesigned to include calls in Balboa both eastbound and westbound.   The first call of ANDEX in Balboa will take place on June 27.    American Shipper
