5/17/2008 9:36:49 AM

Jade Cargo International has been appointed by the government of the People’s Republic of China as the first Chinese registered airline to carry humanitarian aid material to Myanmar.

Jade Cargo finished the charter preparation at short notice and ferried a B747-400ERF to Beijing for loading aid material including tents, covers and food. The aircraft left Beijing on the morning of May 7th, and landed in Yangon four hours later.

Two further relief flights were operated to Myanmar on May 9th and 10th.

According to the Chinese government’s Humanitarian Program for Myanmar, further relief flights with Jade Cargo International as operator are planned.
