The CKYH Alliance -- COSCO Container Lines, "K" Line, Yang Ming, and Hanjin Shipping -- on Tuesday made the first call at the new Euromax terminal in the Port of Rotterdam.
The first vessel to call at Euromax was the 4,444-TEU vessel YM Portland, which operates on the Asia/Europe AES3 loop.
The terminal, which is due to officially start operations on Jan. 1 2009, is a joint project of ECT and the CKYH Alliance. The terminal’s first phase will have a berth of 1,500 meters and a capacity of 2.3 million TEUs per year.
