The Port of Vladivostok will establish an integrated 600,000 TEU container terminal on berths 12-16 of the Vladivostok Commercial Seaport.
According to Siman Povaryonkin, chairman of the board of directors, all container assets of the Vladivostok Commercial Seaport will be developed as a single and integrated production facility managed by one operator.
Povaryonkin stressed the fact that an integrated container terminal in the Vladivostok Commercial Seaport has become feasible following FESCO's acquisition of a 50% stake in Vladivostok Container Terminal Co from N-Trans Co in July this year.
Vyacheslav Pertsev, general director of Vladivostok Commercial Seaport, said that reconstruction of berths 14 and 15 will be completed in September, and the port is also beginning construction of non-production buildings and expansion of the site in preparation for new equipment and facilities.
Andrey Akhalin, the new general director of the Vladivostok Container Terminal, the facility will create a nucleus for the integrated structure to join the new terminal on berths No. 14 and 15 with access to the newly constructed railway area of Dalreftrance.
The capacity of the integrated terminal is expected to achieve 600,000 TEU by 2011.
