Israeli shipping line ZIM has announced plans to add a call at the Italian Port of Genoa to its ZCS service. Ships will also continue to call at the Port of Livorno.
"This upgrade is intended to respond to the Northwest Italian market demand, and to offer improved, reliable and direct service between Italy and US east and west coasts," the company said.
The weekly ZCS service uses 15 ships of 5,000 TEU on the following port rotation of: Haifa, Livorno, Genoa, Barcelona, Halifax, New York, Savannah, Kingston, Los Angeles, Oakland, Ningbo, Shekou, Hong Kong, Keelung, Balboa, Kingston, Savannah, New York, Halifax, Barcelona and Haifa.
The first vessel scheduled to call at the Port of Genoa is the ZIM Beijing on September 17.
