Airbus is conducting a test flight of the first Airbus A320 plane assembled in the northern Chinese city of Tianjin, Dow Jones reported.
The plane, due to be delivered the domestic Sichuan Airlines Company by the end of June, took off for its four-hour test flight at 0245 GMT from the Tianjin Binhai International Airport.
The Airbus (Tianjin) Final Assembly Company is expected to deliver a total of 11 A320 aircraft this year, Xinhua cited general Manager Jean Luc Charles as saying.
Starting from 2011, the company will be able to produce 48 A320 planes every year, the executive said.
