Japan Airlines (JAL) will suspend flights on two international routes and reduce flight frequency on eight other routes from October 25.
The company, which is currently receiving support funds from the Japanese government, has seen earnings plummet as a global economic slowdown and an outbreak of swine flu have hit demand for travel.
The two international routes to be discontinued are connections from Chubu International Airport to the cities of Paris and Incheon.
Flights between Narita International Airport and the cities of Guangzhou, Incheon, New Delhi, Hong Kong, will be reduced in frequency.
Flights between Kansai International Airport to the cities of Shanghai, Incheon and Guangzhou, and from Nagoya to Guangzhou will also be reduced.
JAL will also reduce aircraft sizes on 14 international routes to destinations such as the US, India, Singapore, Thailand and Korea.
