US Airways cuts staff, schedules

US carrier US Airways is to cut 1,000 jobs – equal to about three per cent of its workforce – next year and drop 44 per cent of daily flights from Las Vegas as well as ending ex-Philadelphia services to five European cities. The airline is cutting 600 airport passenger and ramp jobs, 200 pilot positions and 150 flight attendants while it drops services to London UK, Milan Italy, Birmingham UK, Shannon Ireland and Stockholm, Sweden.   Aircargo Asia Pacific
