Maersk adjusts AE1 rotation

5/18/2011 10:14:23 AM

Maersk Line has amended the rotation and number of vessels deployed on its AE1 service between Asia and Europe, ComPair Data reports.

The revised AE1 rotation will be Kobe, Nagoya, Yokohama, Ningbo, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Yantian, Tanjung Pelepas, Felixstowe, Rotterdam, Bremerhaven, Singapore, Nansha, Hakata and Kobe.

Maersk has dropped one Hakata call (the service previously called twice at the Japanese port) as well as at Tangiers. Meanwhile, the calls at Ningbo and Nansha are new, while the call at Shanghai moves from the eastbound leg to the head-haul westbound leg.

Maersk is also removing one of the 11 vessels it deployed on the service, leaving 10 vessels with an average capacity of 8,683 TEUs.

In February, the AE1 uncoupled from the AE10 service -- a second Asia/Europe loop for which Maersk previously used the same 21 vessels. The split occurred April 7, and the AE10 now runs independently with 11 vessels.
