A PIL loop linking the Far East and Black Sea ports has undergone changes in name and structure, according to research from ComPair Data.
The line’s former SBS service has been renamed BSC, and will be operated with fewer vessels and a decreased frequency. The service, under its former name, operated with eight vessels and offered weekly. It now uses four vessels (all from PIL) and operates every two weeks.
The rotation of the service, which is unchanged, is Shanghai, Ningbo, Xiamen, Shekou, Singapore, Port Kelang, Port Said, Alexandria, Istanbul, Odessa, Novorossiysk, Alexandria, Singapore and Shanghai. Average vessel size on the service is 2,828 TEUs.
China Shipping charters space on the service on the westbound leg between Port Kelang and Odessa, including the calls in between.
