From 8th to 11th November, 2011, Saigon Premier Container Terminal (SPCT) took part in The second Viet Nam’s Rice Festival which be held in Soc Trang Province – Mekong Delta.
The festival, a large scale economic and cultural event, aims to honour Vietnamese rice producers and traders, as well as scientists who have greatly contributed to rice production and export. The four-day event will have nearly 1,000 stalls put up by hundreds of domestic companies and those from more than 20 countries including Canada, Chile, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Netherlands, Russia, Thailand and the US. This occasion will be a good chance where SPCT can do networking with all potential rice traders and exporters in Mekong Delta Region.
Mekong Delta is a major catchment area for rice and other agricultural products. Rice exporters definitely benefit from SPCT’s strategic location by waterways or overland saving significant logistics cost and time for onsite stuffing or via SPCT’s gate compared to barging or trucking up to Northern Ho Chi Minh City.
