The Japanese consortium comprising “K” Line, NYK and MOL has upgraded the Asia-Mexico/West Coast South America service.
The two current service loops are being consolidated into one loop (ANDES), which will deploy 11 post-panamax vessels of 5,600/6,500 TEUs and a new feeder service (MSX) that will be launched between Mexico and West Coast South America ports.
The new ANDES service will add a direct link between Ningbo and Chile/Peru. Buenaventura and Guayaquil are served via MSX service with transhipment at Manzanillo and Callao, respectively.
“K Line’’ and NYK will provide three vessels each and MOL five vessels for the ANDES service.
The service will start on April 26 with the vessel George Washington Bridge from Keelung, Malaysia.
The port rotation is Keelung, Hong Kong, Da Chan Bay, Xiamen, Shanghai, Ningbo, Pusan, Manzanillo, Callao, Iquique, Valparaiso, Lirquen, Callao, Manzanillo, Tokyo, Keelung.
The MSX feeder service will be launched on May 26 with three 2,100 TEU vessels. The rotation is Manzanillo, Buenaventura, Callao, Guayaquil, Manzanillo.
