Hamburg Süd moves service to Los Angeles

Hamburg Süd said it and its partners in vessel-sharing agreements (VSAs) on four services will move terminal operations from the International Transportation Service, Inc. marine terminal in Long Beach, Calif., to the TraPac terminal in Los Angeles beginning in late July.

The last ships handled in Long Beach at ITS will be:

  • JPO Scorpius, in the Pacific Southwest /Australia-New Zealand Service, with an expected arrival on July 27. VSA partners include US Lines/ANL, Hapag-Lloyd, and Maersk. MSC is also a slot charterer.
  • Cap Egmont in the Pacific Northwest/Australia-New Zealand Service, with an arrival on Aug. 1. Partners are US Lines/ANL and Hapag-Lloyd.
  • Cap Palliser in the Pacific Coast/North Europe and Pacific Coast/South America services, with an Aug. 25 arrival. CCNI is a partner in the service.
  • Polynesia in the Pacific Coast/South Seas Service, with an Aug. 11 arrival. Polynesia Line is a partner.

 

The first ships calling TraPac in Los Angeles will be:

  • CMA CGM Rose, in the Pacific Southwest /Australia-New Zealand Service, arriving Aug. 3.
  • Cap Vilano in the Pacific Northwest/Australia-New Zealand Service, arriving Aug. 15.
  • Cap Palmerston in the Pacific Coast/North Europe and Pacific Coast/South America services, with an arrival on Sept. 1.
  • Cap Tapaga in the Pacific Coast/South Seas Service, with an Aug. 26 arrival.
