Air New Zealand will suspend operations between Hong Kong and London effective 04 March 2013 because it believes the route will "not become profitable in the foreseeable future".
The New Zealand carrier also signed a new strategic agreement with Hong Kong-based Cathay Pacific for flights on the Auckland-Hong Kong route, which will see both carriers code share on each other's flights and improve connections between New Zealand and mainland China.
The agreement between the two airlines already has the required regulatory approvals and is effective for sales from 12 December and travel from 31 January 2013.
