LA box volume declines 1.48pc in July - down 6.5pc year to date

THE Port of Los Angeles has posted a 1.48 per cent year-on-year decline in July container volumes to 715,640 TEU, with a 6.5 per cent year-to-date drop to 4,426,599 TEU. July imports slipped 0.30 per cent from to 370,745 TEU year on year while exports fell 4.83 per cent to 157,585 TEU with total loaded imports and exports decreasing 1.69 per cent to 528,331 TEU. Factoring in empties, which decreased .86 per cent year on year, overall July 2013 volumes dropped 1.48 per cent compared to July 2012.  Asian Shipper News
