EMIRATES SkyCargo will increase its fleet to 10 aircraft and its freighter network by 12 destinations in the addition of three Boeing 777F aircraft at a capacity of 103 tonnes each, with a fourth due in March.
The new freighter destinations will include Taipei, Chittagong, Eldoret, Lilongwe, Kabul, Almaty, Gothenburg, Zaragoza, Viracopos, Tripoli, Djibouti and Liege, cited a report from Altanta-area Air Cargo World.
The investment allows its customers a greater degree of flexibility, increased frequencies and additional capacity for larger cargo volumes, said its senior vice president of cargo Ram Menen, ahead of his retirement in June.
Emirates SkyCargo contributed US$2.6 billion to the airline's total revenue at 16.2 per cent in cargo turnover of 1.79 million tonnes.
