Liner carrier Zim will participate in three G6 services to U.S. East Coast.
Zim, which has been jointly operating the SCE service with the Grand Alliance between Asia and the U.S. East Coast, said it will continue that relationship with the G6 Alliance. The change will be made in May, subject to U.S. Federal Maritime Commission approval.
The SCE is one of six services that the G6 will offer between Asia and the U.S. East Coast. The G6 is a combination of the New World Alliance (APL, Hyundai Merchant Marine, and MOL) and Grand Alliance (Hapag-Lloyd, NYK, and OOCL).
Zim said it will provide five of the nine ships in the SCE service, which will have the following rotation: Xiamen, Yantian, Da Chan Bay, Hong Kong, Kaohsiung, Panama Canal, Manzanillo (Panama), Kingston, Savannah, Charleston, Kingston, Manzanillo, Panama Canal, and Xiamen.
Zim will also have space through slot exchanges on two other G6 services between Asia and the U.S. East Coast that use the Suez Canal:
- AZX, with a rotation of Laem Chabang, Singapore, Colombo, Suez Canal, Damietta, Cagliari, Halifax, New York, Savannah, Norfolk, Cagliari, Damietta, Suez Canal, and Singapore.
- CEC, with a rotation of Hong Kong, Shekou, Yantian, Singapore, Suez Canal, New York, Norfolk, Charleston, Suez Canal, Singapore, Cai Mep, and Hong Kong.
