MSC to Implement Asia-Mediterranean, Black Sea Surcharge

Mediterranean Shipping Co. will apply a peak-season surcharge to cargo from Asia to the Mediterranean and Black Sea, starting June 1. From Asia to all Mediterranean countries, excluding Turkey, Syria and the Black Sea, as well as the Adriatic and North Africa, the surcharge will be $700 per 20-foot-equivalent unit. From Asia to Turkey and the Black Sea, the surcharge will be $500 per TEU. From Asia to Syria, the surcharge will be €575 (about US$756) per TEU.   The Journal of Commerce
