UNITED Airlines has launched a seasonal service from Chicago to Edinburgh, Scotland that will run until October 5, operating five times weekly using Boeing 757-200 aircraft.
Commissioner of the Chicago Department of Aviation Rosemarie Andolino said, "This is fantastic news for our city, our airport and O'Hare travellers. The launch of air service to a new international destination from Chicago generates economic activity for our region."
The flights operate five times weekly from May 22 to June 11, daily between June 12 and September 1, and four times weekly between September 2 and October 5, a statement from the airline said.
Flight 118 departs Chicago O'Hare International Airport at 1800 hrs, arriving at Edinburgh Airport at 0745 hrs the following day (all times local). On the return, flight 119 departs Edinburgh at 1025 hrs, arriving in Chicago at 1300 hrs the same day.
