Cathay to recommence service to Colombo from April 22

4/16/2007 9:40:09 AM

CATHAY Pacific Airways plans to resume daily flights to and from the Sri Lanka capital Colombo from April 22.

The airline originally suspended its service to and from Colombo following the closure of the airport on March 26, owing to concerns for the safety of its passengers and crew, a statement from the airline said.

"Safety is always our top priority. Cathay Pacific remains committed to Sri Lanka and now that enhanced security measures are being put in place we are happy to be able to resume flights to the country," said Cathay Pacific chief operating officer Tony Tyler.

Flight CX703 departs from Hong Kong on Sundays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays and flies via Bangkok, while flight CX711 leaves Hong Kong Monday, Wednesday and Friday and stops at Singapore along the way.
