THE capital of Guangxi Autonomous Region in southern China, Nanning, is to be the venue for the next China-Asean Port Development and Co-operation Forum to be held during the Fourth China-Asean Exposition in October, Xinhua reported.
Transport ministers and port city mayors from 11 countries, together with international shipping entrepreneurs, are expected to attend the meeting to discuss the development and co-operation opportunities in the Beibu Bay ports.
"The Pan-Beibu Bay area, as an important part of the China-Asean Free Trade Zone sub-regional co-operation, has an urgent demand for breakthrough on port logistics co-operation with the aim to set up a new win-win pattern," said Ye Shixiang, president of Guangxi Beibu Bay International Port (Group).
Exhibits detailing port development plans and policies, investment, information technology, equipment and shipping services will be displayed, said organisers.
