Hong Kong-based ocean carrier OOCL said it has opened a representative office in Mundra, India.
Mundra is a private port in the northwest of India, near the Pakistan border. It is the only port in the country with deepwater berths and also is the first to be connected to the country's rail network with double stack container service.
“This office will allow us to cover the growing industrial and agricultural produce from Gujarat and Northern India. Mundra Port is also an important alternative gateway for North India, linking Asia, Australia, Europe and the U.S. West Coast,” said Bernard Soh, managing director of OOCL India.
OOCL has two weekly services from Mundra, the CPX and IEX.
