Maersk Line has increased rates on services to and from West Africa and Latin America.
From India and Sri Lanka to West Africa, the rate is now US$250 per TEU, effective September 1. The increases apply to all dry and reefer cargo and commodities.
As member of the West Africa Trade Agreement (AWATA), Maersk also announced the same rate increase for Far East to/from West Africa service but the effective date is August 15
From the Middle East and South Asia to West Africa the new rate is also $250 per TEU, effective September 1.
Maersk also increased rates on services between Asia and Latin America to $300/$600 per 20'/40' container between Asia and Mexico and the West Coast of Central America, effective August 15.
The new rate between Asia and Panama, effective August 15, is $200/$400 per 20'/40' container and $350/$700 per 20'/40' container between Asia and the West Coast of South America, effective September 1.
