German container line Hapag-Lloyd said it is adding calls at Jeddah on an Indian Subcontinent/Middle East/Europe service it jointly operates with compatriot line Hamburg Süd.
Hapag-Lloyd’s IOS service (which Hamburg Süd calls ELIP) will call the Saudi Arabian Red Sea port of Jeddah in both directions as of Jan. 23, giving a revised rotation of Hamburg, Tilbury, Antwerp, Tanjiers, Cagliari, Jeddah, Jebel Ali, Karachi, Nhava Sheva, Mundra, Jeddah, Cagliari and Hamburg.
According to ComPair Data, the service is operated with seven vessels (five from Hapag-Lloyd and two from Hamburg Süd) with an average capacity of 4,255 TEUs. UASC is a slot buyer.
