On 30 August 2011, Tan Cang – Cai Mep International Terminal (TCIT) – a joint venture between Saigon Newport Corporation (SNP), MOL (Japan), Hanjin (Korea), Wanhai (Taiwan), held a maiden call celebration of K’Line Lions Gate Bridge 051A/B of AWE4 service (All Water East Coast Service 4) at TCIT.
With 71,395 DWT of tonnage, 285m of LOA, and 5,500 teus of capacity, Lions Gate Bridge 051A/B of K’line is scheduled to berth at 14:00 hrs lt on August 30 and depart at 7:30 hrs lt on August 31. Her route includes 15 ports being Cai Mep – Shekou – Hong Kong – Yantian – Singapore – Suez – New York – Norfolk – Jacksonville – Savannah – Singapore – Cai Mep – Shekou – Hong Kong – Yantian.
Currently, beside AEX service of Grand Alliance, AWE4 by K’Line and MOL is the second service from Vietnam to America East Coast. Together with MOL, all members of CKYH Alliance including COSCO, K’LINE, YANGMING and HANJIN have now deployed vessels to TCIT, yielding a result of 05 ship calls per week. Thus, TCIT is now the biggest player in Cai Mep – Thi Vai area in terms of market share and number of weekly ship calls.
As a member of SNP, Tan Cang – Cai Mep Terminals (TCCT as phase 1 and TCIT as phase 2) is well connected with other logistics facilities of SNP by road and waterway transportation system including Tan Cang – Song Than ICD (Binh Duong Province), Tan Cang – Long Binh (Dong Nai Province), Tan Cang Terminal (HCM City), Tan Cang - My Thoi Terminal, Tan Cang – Cao Lanh Terminal, Tan Cang – Sadec terminal in the Mekong Delta, Tan Cang – Mien Trung (Quy Nhon City, Binh Dinh province), Tan Cang – 189 and Tan Cang – 128 ICD (Hai Phong) and Phnompenh Port (Cambodia).
