Liner carrier APL has expanded the rotation and changed the name of a service connecting Central America and the West Coast of South America, according to ComPair Data.
The line’s service formerly known as PX2 has changed names to WCX now operates with three ships instead of one (with new partner Hamburg Süd providing one of the three ships). MOL, APL’s New World Alliance partner, will continue on the service as a slot buyer.
The WCX rotation includes a number of changes from the old PX2 rotation. A third call at Balboa has been added, as have calls at Puerto Quetzal, Lazaro Cardenas, Puerto Caldera and La Union.
The revised rotation is Balboa, Paita, Guayaquil, Balboa, Puerto Quetzal, Lazaro Cardenas, La Union, Puerto Caldera and Balboa. The service’s three vessels have an average capacity of 1,275 TEUs.
