Maersk Line announced it was dropping PrimePort from its New Zealand schedule, but from next month Port Nelson will be part of a port rotation including Tanjung Pelepas, Singapore, Tauranga, Wellington and Port Chalmers, reports the Nelson Mail.
Maersk New Zealand managing director Julian Bevis said it could easily have gone the other way, but added that Port Nelson had some big exporters with national spread, such as the Talley's Group, and was an important part of Maersk's New Zealand business.
