MOL has named its new 8,100 TEU containership – MOL Creation – which will join the North China-Europe service, and has announced the launch of a new service between India and the US East Coast.
On July 15th, MOL will join CMA-CGM’s existing North China-Europe service (named NCE by MOL and FAL1 by CMA-CGM), which links main ports in Northern China directly with major ports in Europe.
MOL’s new 8,100 TEU containership MOL Creation will join eight ships operated by CMA-CGM on this service.
The port rotation for the NCE service is: Dalian (Sat/Sun) > Tianjin (Sun/Mon) > Shanghai (Wed/Thu) > Hong Kong (Fri/Fri) > Yantian (Sat/Sat) > Port Kelang (Tue/Wed) > Southampton (Fri/Sat) > Hamburg (Mon/Tue) > Rotterdam (Wed/Wed) > Zeebrugge (Thu/Fri) > Le Havre (Fri/Sat) > Chiwan (Wed/Thu) > Dalian (Sat/Sun).
MOL now has six Asia-Europe routes, enabling the company to accommodate rising trade volumes and provide higher quality service.
MOL will also launch a new service on July 27th that will directly connect India and the US East Coast. The India-America Express (IAX), will offer competitive transit times by taking full advantage of the Suez Canal.
The port rotation for the IAX service is: Colombo (Thu / Fri) > Nhava Sheva (Sun / Mon) > Mundra (Tue / Wed) > Damietta (Tue/ Wed) > New York (Sat / Mon) > Norfolk (Tue / Wed) > Charleston (Thu / Thu) > Savannah (Fri / Fri) > Port Said (Wed / Thu) > Colombo (Thu / Fri).
MOL is strategically expanding its Indian Ocean services. The IAX service is the fourth new Indian string since launching the Singapore Chennai Express (SMX) in October 2006 and the Nhava Sheva / Strait Area Service (NS2) in November 2006. In July 2007, MOL will upgrade its India/Pakistan/UAE-Africa (MRX) service.
