Kuehne + Nagel opens in Kaliningrad, Moscow's Domodedovo airport

KUEHNE + Nagel has opened up new offices in Kaliningrad and an airfreight office at Moscow Domodedovo International Airport as part of its continuing expansion in Russia, the company announced.

Kaliningrad is an important import route into mainland Russia, said a company statement. With its year-round ice-free port, the enclave offers interesting logistics potential. Kuehne + Nagel's new branch office will initially focus on seafreight.

Over the next year, service will be extended to overland, warehousing and airfreight. Kuehne + Nagel has also opened a new airfreight office at Moscow Domodedovo (DME), the country's largest and most important airport.

Located on the premises of the cargo terminal, customers are offered the full scope of airfreight import, export and transit services, including Kuehne + Nagel's new Cargo 2000-based airfreight, as well as comprehensive customs services.

Said Clemens Abt, managing director of Kuehne + Nagel in Russia: "The opening of these two new locations is a further step in establishing a logistics network across Russia."

Kuehne + Nagel employs 47,000 employees at 830 locations in more than 100 countries has been active in Russia since 1992 and today has offices in Moscow, St Petersburg, Yekaterinburg, Rostov-on-Don, on Sakhalin and Kaliningrad.
