CMA CGM is adding a ninth vessel to one of its Asia/Europe loops in order to slow the deployed ships and lower bunker fuel costs which are at an all-time high. The 5,552-TEU Monte Tamaro, on charter from Hamburg Süd, will join the FAL3 on Dec. 2 at the Port of Qingdao. The rotation of the service will remain as Qingdao, Ningbo, Xiamen, Chiwan, Yantian, Le Havre, Hamburg, Rotterdam, Zeebrugge, Southampton, Beirut, Jeddah, Port Kelang and back to Qingdao. “Thanks to this additional vessel, the line will be operated in 63 days instead of 56, offering customers the benefit of an increased buffer in the schedule to absorb delays in the congested European ports," said Nicolas Sartini, CMA CGM's senior vice president, Asia/Europe lines.
