Montreal-based Commonwealth Independent States Navigation Inc. will in mid-March launch a regular multipurpose service between Canada, the United States and South Africa.
The service will be operated by new CIS Navigation entity Canada States Africa Line (CSAL), which will initially deploy two multipurpose vessels on a rotation of Montreal, Baltimore, Durban, Richards Bay, Cape Town, Walvis Bay, and back to Montreal. The vessel Atlantic Impala will kick start the loop when it departs Montreal on March 21.
The service will upgrade from a monthly sailing frequency when a third vessel is introduced in September.
For the last 15 years CIS Navigation's group of companies, trading under the name of Atlantic Ro-Ro Carriers Inc., have offered direct year round services between North America and Russia.
