Bilbao receives MSC's 9,000-TEU ships

Spain's Port of Bilbao recently received the 9,200-TEU MSC Joanna, one month after having received its sister ship, the MSC Candice, reports AXS-Alphaliner News.   Both vessels, the largest containerships to have docked at Bilbao, are deployed on the Asia-Europe Lion service.   The MSC Joanna handled 1,200 containers at the Abra Terminales Maritimas (ATM) container terminal, and the MSC Lisbon, a sister ship, is expected at Bilbao later in June.   It is not yet known if Bilbao will become a regular call on the MSC's Asia-Europe services after what is regarded as test calls. Bilbao is usually a feeder port served by the line's 1,767-TEU MSC Katrina.   Asian Shipper
