Chiwan Container Terminal announced plans to establish green passage for Olympic cargo bound for Beijing.
This comes after four FEU loaded with cargo for the Olympic Games in Beijing next month were discharged at the mainland China terminal last week.
A statement from the terminal operator said "it only took two hours for these cargoes to make clearance, and be successfully loaded on trucks on their way to Beijing."
As the final preparations for the historic games are made, terminal officials anticipate that more Olympic cargo will pass through CCT, which will require China Customs and China Inspections & Quarantines to provide efficient cargo clearance.
"To comply with this requirement, Shekou Customs and CIQ have established a green passage for Olympic cargo and provide services at dedicated windows, so as to speed up clearance," said the release.
