The Canada Transpacific Stabilization Agreement has raised its fuel surcharges nearly 18 percent in a month, the carrier association said Friday.
Member carriers, who move cargo between Canada and Asia, said their fuel surcharge will go to $1,192 per TEU, $1,490 per FEU, $1,676 per 40-foot high cube container and $1,886 per 45-foot container. By weight/measure, the fuel surcharge is $33.
Meanwhile, CTSA’s currency adjustment factor will be 7 percent from all origins, including Japan and China, down from 8 percent last month.
The new surcharges go into effect Sept. 1
CTSA added its members will monitor fuel prices and exchange rates and notify customers of any further adjustments.
