Nigeria's fastest-growing airline Arik Air is to launch its non-stop, daily Lagos-Johannesburg route 1 June, according to company managing director Mike McTighe.
''This is a particularly exciting development for all travellers between Lagos and Johannesburg,'' he told journalists here, adding that the service would be operated with an Airbus A340-500 aircraft.
The flight, the second long-haul by the airline after the Lagos-London route, will depart Nigeria;s main gateway Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos
at 21.35pm local time and arrive at Oliver Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg, South Africa at 04.50am local time the following morning.
Another Nigerian airline, Bellview, currently flies daily non-stop flights on the route.
