Japanese air cargo airline Nippon Cargo Airlines (NCA) is to freeze its fleet expansion plans and says it believes it might be five years before the cargo market recovers.
Adding new routes and expanding its fleet when the market faces over-capacity "would be unwise and very unprofitable", the airline said.
The airline had planned to triple its fleet of Boeing 747-400Fs to 24 from eight by end-March 2013. It now says it will keep its current fleet size until at least end-March 2012.
