TNT Express, Europe's second largest express delivery carrier, boosted capacity on the Europe-China route on Sept. 18 with the addition of a new 747 extended range freighter.
The aircraft, which can carry 110 tons of cargo, will operate three times weekly non-stop between TNT's new south China hub in Hong Kong and its European hub in Liege, Belgium.
Amsterdam-based TNT said the service will target the high tech, telecommunications, electronics and fashion industries in Hong Kong and south China as well as Vietnam, Thailand, the Philippines and Taiwan.
The new service complements TNT existing 747-400 ER freighter service between Liege and Shanghai via Singapore.
TNT maintains Asian hubs in Shanghai, Beijing and Singapore.
