NYK to Restructure Japan-Thailand-India Service

2/23/2013 11:01:23 AM

NYK will restructure its Japan-Thailand-India service (HLS).

After the restructure, the service will be delinked at Laem Chabang, Thailand, forming a Japan-Thailand shuttle service (LNS) and a Thailand-India shuttle service (new HLS).

NYK will add a new direct call to the Port of Karachi, Pakistan, on its Thailand-India service.

The shipping company will continue its Japan-India cargo shipping through transshipment via Singapore. Transit time between Japan and Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, will be improved after the city is included in both the southbound and northbound Japan-Thailand shuttle service.

The LNS rotation will be: Tokyo; Shimizu, Japan; Nagoya, Japan; Kobe, Japan; Ho Chi Minh; Laem Chabang; and returning to Ho Chi Minh and Tokyo. Total transit time is 21 days. The southbound service will commence with an estimated time of arrival in Tokyo on March 27. The northbound service will commence with an ETA in Laem Chabang on April 7.

The new HLS rotation will be: Laem Chabang; Singapore; Pipavav, India; Karachi; Nhava Sheva, India; Colombo, Sri Lanka; Port Klang, Malaysia; and back to Singapore and Laem Chabang. Total transit time is 28 days. The westbound service will commence with an ETA in Laem Chabang on April 7. The eastbound service will commence with an ETA in Karachi on April 17.

NYK has also upgraded its Japan-Indonesia and Japan-Vietnam services.

Port rotations in the new Japan-Indonesia services, PGS-1 and PGS-2, have been refined to improve the transit time to Jakarta, Indonesia, from Japan’s Kanto region.

For the Japan-Vietnam service, Ho Chi Minh and Haiphong, Vietnam, will receive direct calls in the new LNS and VLS services, respectively.
