Maersk Line has added Hazira, India, as a port call on its Europe-Middle East service rotation in order to enhance direct coverage of India to and from the east Mediterranean.
The new westbound ME3 rotation is as follows: Pipavav, India; Hazira; Nhava Sheva, India; Jebel Ali, United Arab Emirates; Salalah, Oman; Port Said, Egypt; Mersin, Turkey; Ambarli, Turkey; and Izmit Korfezi, Turkey.
The new eastbound rotation is as follows: Mersin; Ambarli; Izmit Korfezi; Port Said; Jeddah, Saudi Arabia; Jebel Ali; Pipavav; Hazira; and Nhava Sheva.
The first vessel to call at Hazira will be Nedlloyd America voyage 1305/1306 on March 4.
The ocean carrier has also announced several general rate increases.
Starting March 1, Maersk will hike rates in its Middle East to West Africa trade.
Effective March 15, Maersk will increase rates in its trade from the Far East to Central America, Caribbean and west coast of South America; Far East to West Africa; Far East to the Persian Gulf and Red Sea; Far East to India, Sri Lanka and Pakistan; Canada to and from North Europe; and Far East to the east coast of South America.
Beginning April 1, Maersk will also increase rates on its trade from the Far East to the U.S.
The company has also increased its equipment positioning fee for all import containers arriving into Saudi Arabia because of increased intermodal and positioning costs.
