Chengdu's first direct flight to Melbourne, China's fifth to Australia

A PLANE carrying 244 passengers recently took off from Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport for Melbourne, marking the first international direct flight service to Oceania from midwest of China, reports Xinhua. The air service from Chengdu to Melbourne is the fifth direct flight service to Australia from mainland China and the first one from the central western region. After its operation, the overall international and regional flight offering to and from Chengdu have reached 60, of which 21 are regular direct passenger flights.  Asian Shipper News
