THE 9,826-kilometre international direct rail freight service from Chengdu to Lodz, Poland, the fastest train service from China to Europe, is about to start two-way operation this month, reports Xinhua.
The Chengdu-Europe express rail one-way service opened for traffic on April 26, from Chengdu's Qingbaijiang Container Centre, crossing into Kazakhstand at Alataw Pass and on to Russia and Belarus before arriving at Lodz, Poland's third city.
The journey takes 12 to 14 days at present and then the shipments can be distributed to any parts of Europe within one to three days.
